What does it mean when my photographer says he is a “WPPM Certified Photographer”?WPPM:Wedding and Portrait Photographers Malaysia (WPPM) is Malaysia’s only organization for full-time, certified photographers, all of whom are bound by WPPM’s Code of Conduct.WPPM continuously monitor our members ensuring that they produce and maintain the highest standard of professional photography services to their clients.WPPM Grading Panel Board has established a grading system to help professional photographers to assess and upgrade their skills at different times of their photographic career.The photographer who applies to be a “WPPM Certified Photographer” has to undergo different skill assessments by submitting their current work together with a project profile to the judging panel. They will be evaluated on the ideas and techniques applied behind each print. Together with their final presentation, the photographer will be scored points which contribute to the overall pass or failure of their qualification as a “WPPM Certified Photographer”.Only when an applicant has passed his/her panel submission, they are entitled to use the designatory letters after their names, the organizations’ corporate logos on stationary and advertising.In short, your photographer who is a “WPPM Certified Photographer”, is a qualified professional photographer who meets industry standards governed by WPPM.
